I feel like these drop $5-10 each month. Should be free by December right?

We just got a Sonos with the Google assistant, so we're starting to get a feel for it. It's nice to be able to change the Ecobee thermostat with my voice. The highlight, though, was when we asked Google what a fart sounded like.

I'd never seen my 6 year old laugh so hard.

So there's that.

I just bought 2 from a recent deal and another for an older coworker.
I use one for an alarm clock and I think it does pretty well. The speakers are loud and the screen is almost imperseptable in the dark.
The only thing I don't like in this use case is that the alarm doesn't run very long (I'm a heavy sleeper...).
My other one is in the kitchen. I've used it for one recipe so far and mainly YouTube while I cook (I used to use my iPad for this, but I won't mind as much if I ruin the cheaper hub). Search thingiverse for ways to mount this to the cabinets.
When I'm not using it, the device makes for a really nice picture frame.
It has a light sensor that is convenient for when the lights in the room are off or on, but I saw that it had a feature I must have missed when first looking to buy one (it can adjust for the rooms color temperature and make your pictures look nice under a warm bedroom light or office flourescent s with their whiter tones that tend to wash out colors.
My coworker uses theirs for music and appointments. The voice control when setting up appointments is pretty sweet.
I'm debating on getting a third for my office now.

Yup! Still same price for $1 more on eBay from reputable seller. Doesn't look like it's going up at least

Anyone buy one of these and like it? What do you use it for specifically?

I had grabbed the eBay deal since Rakuten doesn't ship to me even though I have a US shipping address.

I use mine as a digital photo frame. It shows my Google Photos pictures. Even at $100, it's a better option than other digital photo frames. That's my main use but I also use it to control smart home devices and part of my chromecast music groups.

When is the Home Hub Max coming out? I suspect they're clearing stock of the small version before that.

Compared this to the echo show this weekend. If you're going to use this for music, you're better off with the echo show. The sound is a lot fuller on the echo show while the google home hub is relatively flat. That being said, I feel that the home hub has better functionality. Just my 2c.
