I own this cooler, and it is a great food cooler. Took it on a recent 4 day trip and did not need to add ice to it.

That being said, if you are going to use the cooler for drinks it is kind of pointless. A drink cooler that will opened 10-15 times a day is going to lose ice regardless of how insulated it is.

So... as others have commented, I also own the 25. We use it mainly for drinks and short trips... I have an Orion 35 that I use for longer periods where I need more room.

Now, last weekend, heat index of 102+, used this one for drinks and extra ice (it's small inside) and it still didn't melt off ice like others "regular" coolers. We didn't add more ice all weekend until late Saturday night because we were cycling in warm drinks. We also drain off any melting once a day.

The Orion was a beast! And it was black on top of that. Never topped of the ice once and only had one large Black Ice plate in the bottom and then ice on top.

But - $79 for Monoprice 25, $400+ for the Orion 35.

The Monoprice cooler did much better than the standard coolers all weekend with the crazy hot heat - even for just drinks.

To each his own - they also don't sweat / condensate on the outside like a regular cooler.

I have the yeti version of this. It's kind of useless for beers and drinks. Doesn't have enough space. I'd rather just buy a large Coleman and use more $2-3 ice. On the other hand, it looks cool.

Same performance as a Yeti at a much better price so a better value.

Yep, I stopped looking at expensive rotomolded coolers after I realized that. You're literally just making it harder on yourself because of the less space + heavier weight, and you're not really going to end up with the better performance these coolers are known for.

The video convinced me and I want to buy this so bad. But for not being an "outdoorsy" kinda guy outside of tailgating...I'm not sure why I have such a cooler fetish, sheesh.

I have the 80L from monoprice arriving tomorrow. Picked it up for 159 shipped. Yeti equivalent is 500. Hope it works. Only the tan color was on sale last week.

I have the 50L and think it is sturdy and insulates well. I've had mine hold ice for over 7 days.

I agree. Actual cabin size is small. But it does insulate well.

I have this cooler and love it. Loaded it Friday, on the lake all day yesterday in SC, at the pool all day today and beer is still cold.

These coolers are great, just be sure you get the size you need. I find this one very small.

I have a 45L rotomold and a 20L high-end soft cooler for the car. Soft is nice bc it's easy to carry and is perfect for road trips and day trips, even in a hot car. Rotomold is great for bigger groups or longer trips. My stuff is RTIC, but it's all similar.

I also have a $5 Walmart backpack cooler for festivals. I put in 3 frozen water bottles with my drinks and I'm good all day .
