10 Ton Hydraulic Manual Log Splitter - $86.24 at Harbor Freight

I thought this deal was good enough to warrant it's own thread... Today is the last day to use the 25% off coupon code 37396209 (reference separate thread by arribasn)... I picked up one of these units and really could not believe the price for such a tool...

If you do light volume log splitting this unit may be for you... $86 is a serious bargain... Here's the link:

Yep, great value at $86.24. Unfortunately for me it went back up to $114 when tax and shipping were applied.

Yeah, the thing is very heavy... Best if you have a local store to pick it up...

I have a Harbor Freight just a mile away, but there was no way around a shipping charge. Either the store is not recognized since it is new in the last year, or they are charging for ship to store.

I think he meant go instore to purchase said item . Possibly call to see if they have one In stock ? Last time they were out of stock on an item I wanted the guy wrote me a rain check and noted 25% and the item

I didn't buy mine online... I bought it in store... I did "prove" the coupon by using it online to verify it could be applied on this item (when I called to verify they had the unit in-stock the store rep told me that if the website accepted the coupon, then they would also)... Try in-store directly...

Note that though there doesn't appear to be a current coupon other than the 25% one, there is often a coupon available to get this item for $89.99: https://www.hfqpdb.com/best_coupo...G+SPLITTER

I bought one of these about 15 years ago. Maybe the quality has improved since then, but when I attempted to split sweetgum, a twisty wood, it torqued the I-beam into an unusable spiral. When I purchased it, I also had to immediately replace the flimsy handles with 3/4" pipe.

In the long run, if you're splitting something straight such as oak or maple, a maul is a heck of a lot faster and easier than this splitter.

Faster?... More than likely... Easier?... Kinda depends on your skill level... I think this would be easier for the novice...

I won one of these a couple yrs ago.. It is ok for small stuff like store bought fire pits. Meh I gave it to a neighbor who has a hunting cabin up north. I don't split logs for my pit & if I ever put a wood burning stove in this house I'll buy a real splitter again. Oh Axe, Maul & wedge is easier for me than this thing if I need to split a big round

Stores match online price. You could have went direct to the store and purchased for online discounted price. No Shipping charge.
