The actor that played Commander Sinclair asked to be written off for personal reasons. The writer had planned backups for each of the main characters to leave, so the story still fits together cohesively. Also, the new captain is really good. If you liked the first season, the show only gets better. And Commander Sinclair does return for a few episodes...

If you've never seen Babylon 5 it was ahead of its time, both from a story and technology standpoint. This show paved the way for epics like The Expanse.

You just have to go into it knowing that the production did the best it could on its budget, that digital transfers were limited, and you should just try and enjoy it like a 90's TV time capsule.

The first season is a slog, but future episodes tie into earlier episodes frequently, and it really is meant to be watched sequentially (as opposed to, say, Star Trek, which is mostly episodic). If you've got the time to invest, it's worth pushing through the first season to get to the good stuff.

If you have Amazon Prime, it's included in the price of membership. It is only available in SD for a number of reasons: https://www.engadget.com/2018/06/...o-quality/

I believe the show is already on Prime for subscribers. Granted that isn't ownership, but who knows what ownership really is these days.....

This show has some great moments especially the Shadow war but some episodes of character development are a struggle to get through. For this price it's worth it.

I forget what sale price I paid on Vudu, but not only bad SD, but not even wide screen.

The new commander grew on me. And I forgive the change since it was for mental health issues of the actor which were getting pretty severe (hallucinations, paranoia, etc). The whole story came out after the actor died and it was kind of sad.

Bruce Boxlietner? was awesome. I still have my action figures from the show and of course have it on DVD. No reason to buy this as it will always, and forever, remain in SD. Londo For Emperor!!!

"It's an Earth food. They are called Swedish meatballs. It's a strange thing, but every sentient race has its own version of these Swedish meatballs! I suspect it's one of those great universal mysteries which will either never be explained, or which would drive you mad if you ever learned the truth."

Love that show. The movies are fun too!
