Xfinity double play or similar, I need help finding a good deal

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my service to get the 210 channel plan plus internet.

I currently have internet pro plus which was $80 per month, but now I pay $108 after time has gone by. That is 60mbps internet and 30 channels plus HBO.

So now I want more channels, I don't need premiums, and would like similar or better internet.

Xfinity does not offer any double play packages when I look online for options.

They offer 1 triple play for 99 that has the channel package I want, however when you add the extra costs of boxes it's $142 per month.

Does anyone know of a plan or option that I can get a double play for $100 or so?

We're at about $142 a month with a double play (non contract) and we just eliminated one of the boxes to save $10 a month. Mind you we had only the non HD boxes here.

Anyway I heard from one of those reps you see in Walmart and other stores that you can use a Roku with the Xfinity app as a cable box to cut down on your costs. Not sure if you can get your full channel lineup through them or not though.

Try reddit. It's weird, but it worked for myself and my mother-in-law. We were both out of promo plan pricing and regular CS reps wouldn't give us the new customer rates.

What you do is post a support request in the Xfinity subreddit describing your situation and asking for better pricing. One of the Xfinity mods will reply/PM you and go from there. It takes a few weeks of back and forth since the messages are only replied to like once a day, but in the end we both got the new customer pricing. If you look in that subreddit, you will see lots of other customers doing the same thing, so it's not something that is discouraged in any way.

Read the top Announcement in that subreddit for instructions on how to post for help.

Good luck!

I had at least two mods offering to help me get a 'better' deal on the regular Xfinity forums. Yet most times it was the same bundle we've had for around the same price. The killer is all the bullshit taxes and fees they hit you with ($10 or so for essentially local channels, regional sports fee even if you never watch the crap, etc).

So an $80 'deal' suddenly becomes $130-140 a month in no time. I should just call the 1-800-COMCAST number for retention and see if they would actually waive the fees for a two year deal but I hate dealing with phone reps. I did it twice and the last time I was barely paying attention to the offers being made.
