Coleman? There's no Coleman here. You've made a mistake.

That endorsement needs A LOT of disclaimers though.

The Wirecutter website is now owned by the New York Times and so their objective deep-dive stuff is essentially dead and gone. They're maybe a bit better than some of the other equivalent review sites, but gone are the days where they actually tested all the products that they should be testing and then gave an objective opinion (ie. not influenced by advertising partners / brands they have a vested interest in). As you can see by scrolling to their "the competition" section, they aren't even transparent enough to list which hard non-rotomolded coolers that they tested, but it seems that they skipped testing stuff like the Igloo Marine cooler which is notably better than the Igloo cooler that they DID test, and didn't even bother with Rubbermaid, Lifetime, and a bunch of other brands that you'll see compete quite well if you go to a site that is all about cooler tests (there are several.)

I'm not saying it isn't a good cooler, I'm just pointing out that the Wirecutter isn't a place to use as a citation to support arguments or theories anymore.

There are several sites that are solely focused on testing coolers and producing comparative results and reviews -- some of those sites do actually seem to indicate it's a pretty good cooler comparatively.

I have one just like this. Hey it is not the greatest cooler in the world but for that price it is a smoking deal. I actually like that it's lid does not have a latch and just closes. I hate having to keep replacing latches. I used mine for salmon fishing. Kept plenty of ice and would hold all the fish I was ever going to put in it.

I've never owned one this large but was looking for the cheapest one with largest capacity for a week camping trip. I figure I can load it with a ton of ice so I don't have to run to town for a refresh. I'm having this delivered to the camp and will donate it when we leave for home.

That's not the same cooler family, and I don't believe it performs quite as well.

Sam's has a lot of big coolers on sale, but I don't think they beat this price. I picked up a Igloo 60 qt (4 day ice life) with telescopic pull handle, two side handles, and wheels for $39.99 prior to taxes. I use it for fishing and attached rod holders and magnets to it to hold my rods and hooks while tying. Got the idea from Catfish and Carp youtube channel. Great guy to follow.

About how long will it keep things cool? Will ice melt in 6 hours?

Also from Walmart, for $5 more, you can have additional 30 quarts of storage space, but not marine grade?

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Colema...n/21947771

These are good as structures for emergency survival/food supplies storage outside of the house, in the ground.

If you have samsung pay, you also get back 5% back on sports & goods category from walmart through samsung pay rewards section. ( I got charged roughly 70cents more when I checked out with paypal instead of credit card? YMMV?)
