"FDIC-insured through our partner bank"

- does not seem to be highly reliable

"Simple is an American direct bank based in Portland, Oregon. The company provides FDIC-insured checking accounts to US Citizens only through a partnership with The Bancorp and BBVA USA[2] and is part of the STARnetwork for surcharge-free access to around 55,000 ATMs.[2] Since 2014, Simple has been part of the BBVA Group, one of the largest banks in Europe.[1][6]" quoted from wikipedia

This seems pretty straight-forward. I'm planning to open up one personal and one shared (to receive the full $500). Thanks for sharing!

Can you be the primary account holder on the shared account or do you have to be the secondary to qualify for the offer if the primary is already the account holder for the personal account?

This is a great deal - it's equivalent of earning around 14.02% APY (12% APY from the bonus + 2.02% APY from the base rate) for 2.5 months.

The "partner bank" is actually BBVA bank which owns Simple. Simple was acquired by BBVA back in 2014:

https://www.bbva.com/en/bbva-acqu...expansion/

FDIC # for BBVA bank is 19048, can be found here:

https://research.fdic.gov/bankfin...se&tabId=2

So I think it should be reliable as far as FDIC insurance goes.

It should be noted they are not a full-service bank.

They recently did away with billpay via checks.
You cannot adjust your maximum daily ATM amount.
You can adjust your POS limit when travelling internationally.
non debit card, Debits and credits post throughout the day instead of at one set time.
They do not accept wire transfers
No checks issued
Check deposits over 3k must be mailed.

Great info! So how do they even expect you to fund $10k if they don't take wire transfers?
