tempted but just need the 707 and the overall price just isn't doing it with that receiver.

I thought we weren't going to see any more deals on the 707's Wink good things come to those who wait. I will wait.

I'm with this guy. I already have two pretty sweet receivers. Don't need to buy a $3K package for some towers and perhaps some bookshelves. I also will wait.

Same. This is not a good deal and I'll pass. I've been waiting for months for a deal on the 707s and the 706 but they'd need to be paired with a Yamaha 3080 to get me to bite. Waiting.

Need a deal sans receiver. Preferably a 7.0 set with either another pair of 703's or a pair of 702 F/X.

I am on the same boat. I own 705, 703 and 702f/x. Need 707s as my front. Will be sweet if they combo it with 3080 for $2200-2300ish

shipping kills any private sale on 707s. sell yours locally. plus shipping these is risky - even with full factory paddding. I had shipping damage to a set from adorama once.

The big all inclusive package deals with the yams receivers are much better deals though. They can't discount the the receivers when they sell on their own due to Yamahas policy, so it's extremely rare you find them on sale. Given that, you can sell the receiver easily on eBay. That's what I did. I sold the receiver, center, and bookshelf's and walked away with 2 lsim 707 basically for free.

Update. I called and asked them to modify the package for me. They replaced the RX-V2085 receiver with the Yamaha RX-A3080 (invoiced at $1250) and also let me get the whole package in the Mt. Vernon Cherry finish. The center invoices at $350, the bookshelves at $500, and the towers at $1400. I paid $350 more for the towers than their all-time low of $1050/pr last July, but I just bit the bullet and did it anyway. No telling that deal will ever come back and a new Yamaha receiver isn't enticing to me. This one is extremely highly rated, and handles Dolby Vision pass through and the newest HDMI codec (both require the latest firmware update), so what more could I want??. I'll likely sell the bookshelves as I didn't really want them. He did offer to remove them from the package, however at that price I may as well audition them before flipping. My rep's name was Steve Chill. Good luck to you all & thank you!! I've waited many months to get these! I'll report back after I hook everything up and let you know if I have buyer's remorse.

See my latest post. They may modify the deal for you and replace the receiver with the speakers you mentioned.

See my latest post. The way my deal invoices you may be able to just get the 3080 and the 707 towers for $1650 which isn't too shabby at all (albeit $350 more than the best deal ever last July). Keep in mind that deal came with the Yamaha 3070 which did not support Dolby Vision or the latest HDMI codec. If they make you get the center and tower you can easily flip them to break even (likely even a profit) on eBay. Good luck!
