FYI, Silicon Lottery sells binned CPUs. The cherries have been picked out of the lot, and these are what's left.

To each there own, but I'd say the 3-year warranty is worth an extra $30. The bonus is you get to roll the dice on your own silicon -- guaranteed no worse than what Silicon Lottery is selling.

Literally bottom of the barrel silicon..I don't think a $30 savings is worth it.

Warranty on a CPU? I've never seen one fail that wasn't massively abused.

Neither have I -- it's pretty rare as a consumer with a little common sense; but it happens, and the warranty is offered for a reason. Just saw a Youtuber [youtube.com]not too long ago who burnt out his 3900x review sample. He wasn't sure what happened. AMD did send him another sample.

I only killed CPUs from overclocks with high voltage. So evevn if you overclock just keep the voltage on the low side.

For those wondering what Silicone Lottery is, they basically buy CPU in bulk and resell the one with high OC capability at higher price. The one they are selling are left over that didn't make the cut.

For most users, letting XFR and precision boost do its thing would probably be better than manually overclocking.

Never use the built in OC features on mothebroard. Thats how you end up with dead CPUs. Those profiles dump so much voltage into it. Usually at unsafe amount.
