This is good RAM, but there was a recent article claiming that RAM prices could drop another 40% this year due to oversupply. I'm going to wait it out for a couple more months at least.

If that's the case, I'll return the one I bought last week and wait for the prices to drop more.

Seems like only yesterday 32GB of ram was going for around $250, now it's half that, and if prices fall another 40% by the end of the year we're looking at somewhere around $75 for 32GB, might be a good time to stock up before prices go back up again.

Edit: just found my receipt from February of 2018, 32GB Ballistix DDR4 2400 $329.99 EEK!

RAM should be much cheaper. Only reason it got so high is because the three RAM companies colluded with eachother (Samsung, Hynix, Micron). Then China sued and said to cut it out or they would build their own Chinese factories.. Prices started to fall after that.

I think 16GB sticks will be under $40 soon.

Can I pair this with an rx590 and Ryzen 5 3600?

I just bought CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 today for $96.

Which one is better for my setup?

Sorry n00bie here

They are already cheap right now. The most they would drop is around $94 but that's really if things goes as planned. You never know. Some country's dispute may cause RAM prices to rise.

i don't really pay attention to RAM news but is DDR5 coming out soon? kinda want to stock up on some ram if it does drop another 30-40% but if DDR5 is around the corner might not be worth stocking up.

They are going to figure out ways to make sure that doesn't happen. These companies have been found guilty of price fixing several times in the past.

Ram prices have dropped considerably since 2013. I spent more for 16GB of RAM 6 yrs ago. Getting twice the amount now for $5 less. Another 6 yrs, we'll have 64GB for $120. This is pretty much how it goes w/computer parts. Sizes get bigger for the same price over time.
