ck1109, I'll just add my 2 cents...I'm a big civ fan and have played almost all the versions out there (1-6, mac, & pc). The iPad version is my favorite and what I find myself playing the most because it is so easy to load up and the user interface is pretty smooth.

In my experience I have not had any crashes or bugs using an iPad Pro 10.5. However, using my older iPad Mini 4 is not possible. Super slow and lots of crashing. I'm super impressed that they were able to port such a complex game to iOS in the first place. If you've got a reasonably recent device it will probably play wonderfully.

The control of the game is slightly different because you are using touch instead of a mouse. There is a bit of a learning curve that you will figure out in a couple of turns. With practice I now prefer the touch interface over a mouse. Again, personal preference and others may disagree. Otherwise the game is pretty much identical. Sometimes accessing certain views or information is slightly different, but everything I use is the same as far as I can tell.

One thing you may want to be aware of is if you plan to play multiplayer sometimes the versions (patches) may not align between devices which in the past has caused me some difficulties. For example, the game may have different updates released at different times for Steam, the Mac App store, or the iOS app store versions. I personally don't play multiplayer often so its not a problem for me, but just something to consider or maybe research more if you care.

This is my favorite game right now. At $10 and $2 for DLC its pretty good deal. One last recommendation....every now and then log into the app's main menu "purchases" section. Sometimes they will offer an expansion packs for free. I've gotten 2-3 for free just by randomly poking my head in there. Hope that helps, enjoy!

Will this work on my 9.7 iPad Pro? Or did you mean 9.7 instead of 9.5? 😆

Is the ios version of Civ6 crippled in any way when compared to PC/console versions?

From my understanding its pretty much the full game. Controls are made for touchscreen, but most of the other stuff is the same.

I believe it only lacks strategic view map and maybe not all mods are compatible. There is free 60 turn trial when downloading to try out. It's amazing port!

Are the 60 free turns compatible with COOP mode so my friends can all play and we can see if we like it?

I play it on my 9.7" pro and I haven't had any issues, it's a fantastic port.

This is a great deal! I bought it for $15 in December. I only played a few games, but even those few games made it worth it.

This is an amazing port. Well worth more than $10.

Now we just need the same quality treatment for Cities: skylines so we can play that on the go.

I can't remember 100% but movement mechanism is quite annoying. Depending on how much you zoomed in, it gets tricky to move the unit with your fingers. If you have apple pencil then I would recommend playing with that.

Damn, just bought this a week ago for twice the price. Worth every penny. Works great with iPad 6th gen and iPad pro 3rd gen (tried both). It's the full game just as good as on PC, heard it's a little behind on multiplayer compared to PC version.
