I can't stand ring. Their marketing is so deceptive. If you don't pay the $3/month fee their device is worse than leaving your old doorbell on. You basically can't use the video feed, because by the time someone rings and you pull out your phone and hit the feed...it opens super slow and the person is gone. If you pay the $3/month it opens much faster and saves the recordings. Their marketing is super deceptive. Without the $3 fee there is no security to your home. The $3 fee is not clearly marketed with their sales.

In hindsight, I would have never bought this device, and instead would have just set up a wyze cam on the patio and wired a plug to it, or attached a battery pack to it.

I got one 2 months ago. The experience is just ok. The battery life is at 40% or so with minimum alert setting. My major gripe is that it is a bit slow to connect and you see the "activating" part when you click on the motion alert and by the time you get the live feed no one is there. Also the number of fake alerts is quite a bit. I feel they should give free cloud recording for atleast the last 10 alerts or so instead of charging $3. That may attract a lot more buyers. Also the peephole version is way overpriced at $200.

Woots CS is pretty fast and helpful. If you ever have a problem with your items, they will likely ship you the same product and you got 30 days to return the old one.

PIcked up two of these a couple months ago. The doorbell in the house died so these worked fine. Biggest complaint is that if you use them for motion detection near a fairly active door the battery lasts maybe a month.

I was planning on using it as a basic doorbell. Our wiring is messed up and I just wanted a working wireless doorbell. I saw this had a battery and thought it would work along with basic video feed. I have Google Assistant devices. Any other suggestions you have for a wireless doorbell? I figured having this would also serve as extra security purposes and people would believe they are being recorded and monitored.

Also, one needs to consider buying a Ring chime as well, that would cost extra $30. The new version came with it.
