I posted about this unit in the Dell Inspiron 13.3" thread... one store had this Samsung unit and I was debating which one to get... this Samsung is nice, but I opted for the Dell... the Samsung is kinda old in the specs (dual-core i7 chip, DDR3 memory, M.2 SATA3 storage)... on the positive side this Samsung has a 15" (not 15.6") Full HD screen and weighs less than 3 lbs...

I still debate whether I should buy the Samsung, but since I found two of the Dell units I don't really need more...

I got 2 of these at this price. The laptop is very fast and lightweight and build quality is pretty good. The screen is bright and colors are great. At this price, it is absolutely worth it.

The actual model is not exactly like the picture or description on Brickseek. The actual one at Wal-Mart is Iron Silver, not Light Titan. The actual one has black keys, not silver. The actual one does not have a fingerprint reader or a backlit keyboard. Just an FYI to help you determine the exact model in store, it can be really tough to determine if you Google NP900X5J-K01US.

Depends on how you count your generations? To me, 8th gen would be 1 generation old, 7th gen would be 2 generations old. But regardless, it is still a dual-core i7 unfortunately.

What are you looking at? No walmart store carries that (or any refurbished laptops that I've ever seen)

yes spec wise not worth the price, let alone the driving. But the build is good and so does the review

The one that you posted in the other thread did NOT have a HDD and only had 4 GB of RAM. It was also cheaper at $249.

This one is more expensive but has SSD and 8 GB RAM. However it is LAST GEN processor and given that there was a huge jump to the 8th gen, I'm wondering whether it is worth it.

Also I was decidedly underwhelmed with the Dell Laptop. It's just not as premium in general.

He meant his post in that thread. Not the laptop in that OP.

...I did find while I was there one of these Samsung 9 units for $399:

Looks nice... not as fast of a CPU, but very thin and light (2.7 lbs.) with a 15" 1080p display... reviews seem ok... not sure whether to bite... thoughts?..
