It's also still $799 from Costco through tomorrow, with the pen. Maybe a better deal if you need the pen and return policy.

I have the 256GB model and use it for web development. The keyboard is infinitely better than butterfly switch keyboards on the MacBook pro. It's not as good as the one on the Surface Book, but still very comfortable for everyday use.

It's very easy to type on if you're sitting at a desk. It's very annoying to use one on a lap or uneven surface.

Can someone who owns one of these comments and what it's like actually typing on it? Like, could you imagine writing a novel on it?

I wouldn't be using it to write a novel, but I would have to write a lot. The surface looks great for portability, I'm just wondering how practical it would be for it to replace my laptop.

Not bad for a quad core U-series tablet.

I second that! You probably would be better off with a rigid mounted keyboard if you're writing on an airplane, bus, or other tight space where you would like the whole unit on your lap.

For what it's worth, I do my reading while traveling and my writing when I've arrived. If you're a student, the pen and screen write offers awesome functions that limit the need for constant keyboard use.

I bought a smaller storage unit and bought a 256 gb microsd for the purpose of expanding storage. I keep my video on a portable hdd. I'm sure this wouldn't work for everyone, but it functions well for me.

Can the SD be easily integrated into the filesystem? Ie. making files on the desktop/my documents go to SD instead of the internal drive?

Keyboard is great, this is exactly whatba tablet computer should be. I did start with this and added a surface book 2, which the type experience is even better.
