This is almost $100 cheaper than I paid 4 or 5 months ago for mine. I bought before we started seeing so many deals on resin printers. The photon has been easy to use and has produced good results.

At under $300 this seems like the resin printers to get.

Great price and includes a bottle of resin and some spare films. It's the diving into SLA and the hassles/dangers of resin printing that gives me pause. I've been circling the drain but this price may push me into giving it a try.

I tried on the last deal at a similar price and I just didn't find a use case. I print alot of FFF but this hassle just wasn't worth it for me. Alot of prep, clean up and isolating the printer. I think if you really require tiny details it would be worth it but it all depends on what you need.

Is this a paid review? 😉

Fumes, solvents and you should not let uncured resin touch your skin. Unless you have adequate ventilation where you will be using this in you home, it's not going to be good. A FDM printer using vegetable based polymers is much safer.

Resin is dangerous
There was a post not long ago of a guy who was admittedly in a hurry who spilled resin on his leg. It wasn't bad at first, but a few days later he had blisters over his entire upper leg.

This is just a single case, and he admitted to doing everything wrong, but it's worth considering the risks with it if you have say, small children or animals, etc... and where you're going to put this among other things.

However, when done right, resin seems to produce incredibly detailed results on smaller pieces. It prints 3d minis and all that with wonderful quality!

It's a "know what you're getting into" and maybe not an entry level or first time recommended 3d printing adventure, but of course this is all my opinion!
