Detroit's actually really nice. I'm sorry you don't know anything past the olive garden in your hometown. If only this was for November. Honeymoon time

When was the last time you were in Detroit?

I find people that talk this way don't actually go to Detroit, or have only been to the crappy outskirts and say "Nope, all of Detroit sucks because I saw a patch of abandoned buildings"

Try going to Midtown, go to a ball game and grab some food at one of the many restaurants down there. You'll find it's actually kinda nice.

Don't blame Detroit for that. Flint's water crisis is because Flint was trying to save money and disconnected from the Detroit Water and Sewage Department.

EVERY state has it's crappy parts.

Detroit is a city, not a state.
You learn something new every day.

Also, DTW is not even in Detroit.

Im thinking you are reading or understanding that wrong. As the flight goes out of state. He is saying he and many others would chip in to not only fly him away from the city of detriot but to remove them from the state all together.

I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure my wife would annul our marriage if I took her to Detroit on our honeymoon.

Maybe, but they have serious monetary and infrastructure issues. They were also responsible for Flint's decision to swap its water source.

Just curious though, what do you think are the bigger worries?

This is like $10 off the "normal" price for this flight.

But that move was because Detroit was trying to massively increase Flint's water bill. It wasn't all Detroit's fault, but it did start there.
