It does not come with a NVIDIA GPU

For those wondering Max-Q vs. non Max-Q graphics and also Intel vs. AMD in mobile space here's the gist:

- A configuration like this with a Ryzen 7 3750h and max-q 1660 TI makes sense because the Ryzen 7 is lower power than the core i5-9300h and core i7-9750h which are 45 watt chips vs. this 35 watt AMD chip - so a little power savings there...you are even in multi-core performance but lag behind a bit in single core performance (15-20%) for a 3750h vs. 9300h

- A non Max-q 1660 TI runs up to 80 watts, the Max-q version is only 60 watts, so again, there's more power savings there...the max q version is about a ~15% trade in performance from the non max-q version.

So basically, you're saving about 30 watts going from 1660 TI/i5-9300h to 1660 TI Max-Q/Ryzen 7 3750h, and trading no multi-core performance from CPU but a bit single core and ~15% GPU performance in the process.

This thing has a 76WHr battery and should last you a long time on a charge. A decent bit more gaming than a comparable i5-9300h/1660 TI non max-q would on the same battery. This thing is built for someone who likes to game but also needs more all-day battery for other tasks when needed as well (as well as longer gaming performance as well).

No, you will at least need a Macbook pro 15 inch to get a GPU in it. Starting at $2399 LMAO

It's a Ryzen 7, not a 5, might want to correct the title.

Besides the RyZen 7 and it having 16gb Ram, would you say it's a comparable deal to the Walmart Asus ROG Strix deal for 899? (The Strix had a i5-9300h and only 8gb Ram)

I dunno seems like a solid deal. I prefer to have a i7 8th gen h series, but ryzen is no slouch. Also for a gaming laptop being under 5lbs is a plus. The gtx 10660ti is almost on par with the gtx1070.

After doing some research it turns out the ryzen 7 is slower than a i5-8300h

I like the look/design of this laptop more, but the IPS screen and core i5 processor are likely quite a bit better in the Strix. Both are very good deals, and it's unlikely we'll get better laptops this year for the $900 these go for. Just to confirm what the earlier poster said, this laptop is $899 with the student discount, so this is better than past deals and what the OP originally posted.
