Wyze the creator of the Wyze Cameras everyone has come to love just opened up the preorder release of their new smart plug (2-pack). It is advertised to connect to other smart home devices with IFTTT and can be used to automate devices. Alexa and Google Home capable.

It can be ordered on both their website and the Wyze app but the app appears to be giving errors due to high demand and the website occasionally is crashing but if you keep trying you can get an order through.

$5.98 shipping if you order 2 sets.

Downside is that you have to wait until September.

$36 for 4 if you wait a couple months. Not bad however I wish amazon would allow more of their $5 plugs to be released. They seem to work well.

Don't think you should be plugging high current draw items into smart plugs for unattended use but just one man's opinion worth exactly what you paid for it.
IOW I don't see the amp rating on these as an issue since I would never plug anything more than a lamp or holiday lights into one.

They've been discussed for a while in the early access section of the Wyze forums and there was a survey about them a few months ago in the Wyze beta group. Wyze products get leaked all the time - look at the flap over android police last week.

Email. I pre-ordered the Wyze Smart Blubs back months ago and I guess I'm on a list to get notified of their new pre-order items.

Yeah I was going to use one to plug in my electric smart car too. Dang it!

In all honesty a typical washing machine draws 10A. So typical household usage would be fine at 15A. Unless they are used like A Christmas Story socket overload....

Not sure why people are complaining.

All the other Wyze products are awesome - lots of features and big bang for the buck. It looks like these plugs will work well with the Sense, making for a simple, cheap automation setup.
