So this won't be compatible with Verizon FIOS, right? Only Xfinity from Comcast, Spectrum, and Cox?

Any reason this wouldn't be compatible with Fios if you just run it as a router?

I'm using this with "Frontier" FIOS (what used to be Verizon FIOS) with no issues. They still made me rent their router even if its just stored in a closet because they want standard hardware to use if troubleshooting issues is needed.

I have this system and it's constantly dropping and losing connection to WIFi. I have an IPhone 7 and it's a huge issue for me

This doesn't seem right. I would call and complain, especially if they're making you pay for something you don't need.

Using orbi with my fios. No issues. The tech told me that i needed fios router so that my cablebox to work. Half true. Half false. I only have double play(tv and internet). The cable box worked fine after i disconnected the splitter from ont. I have cable box straight to ont now. Ont has ethernet connection. I fed ethernet connection to router, then another ethernet cable from orbi router to ethernet in on cable box. If you dont run it like this, youll get cable channels but built in apps like Netflix wont work since it needs internet data to come through somehow. This is why i said he was half false on his statement. Verizon fios returned to avoid their leasing charges.

Just another data point...I've been using this setup with Cox 300Mbps and 150Mbps internet since December and I have not had any issues (other than Cox's regular outages).
