I purchased a 2017 Yamaha SCR950 Motorcycle last week for 4500 + 500 dealer setup and tax title plate. The bike's MSRP was $ 8700. So It is about 4000 off. It is a good motorcycle for starters as well as experienced riders. The price is a great motivator. According to Cycletrader.com there are nearly 300 available for sale across the country. Some dealers will have to be prodded a little to make a great deal but if motor cycles are your bag this is a slick deal. I have listed the specifics of the bike below but in a nut shell it is 950 cc displacement engine from the Bolt with a scrambler set up which is trying to be dual purpose and retro appearing.

Def not a dual sport, why would they even market it as that?

I ran across a listing for one of these leftovers the other day, definitely a nice bike for the money.

$4000 if financed, or $4400 if purchased outright.

Well, scramblers used to be the dual-sports of the time
https://www.cycleworld.com/2017-yamaha-scr950-scrambler-motorcycle-review-first-ride/

And they gave it street-oriented dual-sport tires as well
https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport-heritage/models/scr950

Though suspension travel won't be able to handle the big jumps...

That's a pretty sweet deal. At that price you could make it a dual sport with some knobbies a skid plate and longer suspension. That would be a fun project.

I've actually noticed these bikes being marked down significantly for awhile now. It's $5400 OTD in So Cal. at Del Amo

Anyone want to comment on the bike? Why's it so cheap? Good for a first bike?
