I was on the fence about this, but since I already have both LoZ: Link's Awakening and DQ XI S pre-ordered and coming out 3 weeks later, this is perfect.

The $10 rewards cash expires October 1st, so keep that in mind. Also, collection of Mana is already available for digital purchase on switch.

Also, Secret of Mana (the second game in this collection) has a remake (which is not available on switch) so the game you are getting here is the SNES one.

And Trials of Mana (the third game in this collection) is getting a remake that IS coming to switch sometime next year. The version in this collection is basically the SNES version as well.

Didn't they kind of bodge the remake? It got middling reviews at best, and a lot of criticism for not really improving the graphics, just modernizing them. They also broke some of the combat balance, apparently. Wouldn't that bode poorly for the Trials remake?

I've been meaning to pick this up somewhere, but I've been passing on the remake due to the meh reviews. Repro carts for the actual SNES are pretty cheap, but I feel kind of icky buying one of those. The nice thing here is getting all 3, too, and I could use the $10 toward expanding my 3DS collection or buying Link's Awakening. Too bad you can't get the reward for pre-purchasing digital (never thought I'd actually say that, but for Switch...).

Yeah the reviews were not great, mostly because it's basically a straight copy, with no quality of life improvements. Just wanted to make sure people knew about the remake so they could decide what to play. The experience is basically identical, just choose the one you want to play based on your graphical/price/platform preferences.

I'm also worried about the remake of Trials. I doubt that square is going to go out of their way to improve anything, but who knows.

The remake of Trials so far looks amazing. Check out youtube for game play videos. I think there's one that has about 20 minutes of game play.

When I saw the original title I was thinking and hoping this was a Best Buy offer. I'm still lucky enough to have my GCU so I've preordered the physical copy for $32. It seems like a no-brainer to grab this offer (if you remember to use the credit) over the digital version for the same price unless you really prefer having a digital copy.

This beats the $34 walmart price, so I bit on it, but the language of the confirmation email is a bit disturbing:
Please pickup your product within 48 hours of store arrival. If the product is not picked up within 48 hours, you authorize us to charge a $5.00 fee to the credit card you provide, to cover the cost of shipping and handling to the store.
This is why Gamestop is dying. I basically never went to Gamestop since I got back into gaming around 2011. But, since Best Buy stopped GCU, I signed up for their reward thing and have actually been giving them some business. They had a great opportunity to shine, and I've had some positive interactions, but it's like they're trying to run customers away. I don't have a card on file with them, so I don't know how they would even try to charge me the fee.

It does but then again this is the collection of the original games, that is a separate paid release for next year. This is for people that want a physical copy of what has been available digitally only so far since Nintendo's E3 presentation this year.

Is this related to the "Secret of Mana" game?

Square Enix has said it will be a limited physical release, so I wouldn't bet on it

I remember playing it as a kid, but I could never figure out where to go. I may have to fire this game up again soon.
