If the back cover is opened by the consumer for any reason (upgrade or replace a part) LG voids the warranty. Confirmed by 2 CSRs. Just an FYI!

Mostly they do price match but if not doing then you can do like this, buy with this deal and return with old receipt. That way you can use yours and you dont have bad feel of returning after using a product.
The only potential issue with that is that they may note the serial number somewhere in their system. I know many retailers do that.

Might jump on this but the second I do they will come out with a model that has 100wh battery, discrete graphics, and a matte screen.

Doubtful. Gram has never been about power, and the battery life is already extremely good. The only thing holding me back is I need a 4K screen (for currency trading). Sooo close to being the perfect laptop for me

I chat with Costco CSR asking if they will price match for a soundbar that I bought last Sunday which will be on sale $30 less from 7 August and they said to call the warehouse and they will do the adjustment.

So you are saying that I should try asking for the difference before the deal starts? I guess that makes sense as they will have to make an exception later anyways. I'll head over to Costco later today or tomorrow in that case.

That should be a lot more straightforward as you would be under the 30 days for their pricematch policy. For me, Aug 7 will be about 50 days for purchase. I'll try anyways. Thanks for the info.

"Because there is no thick overlying glass, the glossy screen is very crisp and colors pop more than usual. Texts and colors appear crisper than even the higher resolution 4K UHD panels on the Alienware m17 or MSI WT75 since these matte screens are noticeably grainier."

Plus better battery life with FHD. I like 4K a lot, but as we know the Gram is all about what it's really good at. Thin, light and battery life.

I bought this laptop from a store on June 18 for $1300...
Does anyone know if this will cost less in stores during the promotion? How do I know what stores have this model (other than "by feet")?

Most stores should have them. You can always call.

You have a week, plan a trip this weekend and take a look. The free samples alone are worth the time. Smilie

I actually need the 4K resolution. I ran native in the MacBook before and it still wasn't quite enough. I guess my use case is pretty unusual

Picked one up from Costco last night with the intention of price adjusting when the sale starts next week. So far, it's phenomenal (coming from an XPS 13). I've long needed the additional screen real estate but couldn't afford to lug around a heavy 17" laptop. A couple of tips from my first day of use:

If you want to maximize screen real estate, drop the scale to 125% (default is 150%) in display settings. After doing so, dual-window multitasking becomes glorious!

The speakers, while loud, sound tinny out of the box. To get fuller sound, I opened the "DTS HeadphoneX v1" app (pre-installed) and selected the "3D Fx" option. I'm not sure why this isn't enabled by default, because it provides a tremendous boost in sound quality!

Battery level is at 50% after ~6 hours of use running Chrome with several open tabs and various Office products with screen brightness at 70%. Not bad!

I'll need a week or two of use to form a definitive opinion, but I'm pretty sure I've found my next laptop!

I'd jump at this except one review mentions that upgrading memory or storage voids the warranty. If I bought something like this, the first thing I would want to do is swap in a 1 or 2TB M.2. But if that voids the 4 years of warranty, it's not worth the hassle.
Would they be able to know if you opened the laptop? How would they know?
