I mean, if you're going to double how much you spend and you don't mind waiting for a deal, you can absolutely find a better tv, especially if you're looking at OLED. There's a big difference between $440 and $1000.

There have been 55" LG OLEDs for $999 on sale recently, but it's more than 2x the cost of this tv. LG OLED is unparalleled in picture quality (IMO, owning both 2017 TCL P-series & LG OLED).

If you can afford it, go LG OLED. If you want a very good tv for an amazing price then get this one.

Anyone have experience with the shipping carrier that Rakuten uses (Seko)? I see bad reviews.. I ordered a Samsung TV last Fri, and it's still sitting in their "terminal".

I've purchased 2 of the 6 series from Rakuten. 65R617 then a 55R617.

Both have been great and delivery was smooth. The 55" came FedEx and the 65" was delivered freight. No issues with either delivery and I am very pleased with both TVs

My budget tops at 1k for a 50-55 (bedroom) should I be getting this ? Or spring for Vizio-p/900f/oled ? Mostly gaming and 4K streams

If you're willing to spend a grand go with the 900f, one of the best non oleds you can get without spending stupid money.

If you can find an OLED within your budget that's the clear winner, the B8 seems to be the only model that has been seen at sub $1k sale prices. Though this TCL is a fantastic tv itself, it's ultimately up to personal preference with highly diverse TV market

save some of that money for a decent $300 Vizio Atmos soundbar. Or the Nvidia Shield which is on track to get the Pie OS this week. The Roku OS is great but I still like the top input menu best for jumping around without closing stock TV apps.
