Haven't followed security cams in awhile; does BNC support 4K well? Wouldn't the video degrade over long distance, particularly with power running in parallel?

Get this or wait on PoE?

I would say wait for poe. There was a nvr deal couple months ago. Lorex 6 cam nvr with active deterrence for i think 600. You can search it. I assume youre not needing 12 cameras

12 cameras would be nice. Currently have 8 on a DVR, a bunch of Wyze throughout.

So, really 16 would be optimal, but I'd guess I'm looking at $1200+

HI cr-vtec,

In general the coax / bnc kits I have looked at normally have lesser specs than the PoE kits.

In this particular case, the specs actually look fairly good in terms of sensor size on the camera and fps that they claim the cameras can do. Thus good news on that front.

As I believe cat6 cables are fair better for new installations, and PoE kits typically provide for better options ( abet with some more complexity ) - I prefer to go the IP PoE route and use cat6 for new cable runs.

note a lot of the lorex PoE kits are Dahua OEM, especially now that Dahua bought out Lorex - however I am not certain if Dahua is the OEM of these cameras. If you get a chance to inspect the UI of the kit you should be able to determine that.

Thanks, I'll wait on PoE. One of my BNC runs seems to have bit the dust, and if I'm gonna run it again, I may as well go for PoE.
