In case anyone is wondering... rather than needing separate Atmos speakers, these are built into the top and pointed up at an angle towards the ceiling to reflect and bounce over you.

These are pretty cool. Just remember, if you are a bit of an audiophile, this is not the same as the quality of having actual atmos speakers pointed down from the ceiling. Audio takes on the sound of the material it reflects on. In other words, audio bounced off glass sounds slightly different that audio bounced off a painted wall. Likewise, audio bounced off a popcorn ceiling sounds different than audio bounced off a flat ceiling. It just depends on your setup, but if you are planning on putting these in a living room with 15 or 20 ft ceilings, I would be hesitant to recommend them because the sound is going to scatter too much at that distance to be as directional as you'd want to reflect back down over your seating area.

Klipsich makes pretty good speakers, just be aware of what you are getting yourself into and if it is right for the layout of your home when you are building a home theater system.

The deal is always on cherry. I am looking for ebony. I guess I will just wait for Black Friday and hope that RP-8060FA drops close to $1000. Wishful thinking.

It has a new vented tweeter, but honestly I have both it's not really a noticeable difference. Also design is just slightly different, wood plimth on this one vs metal ft on the new one. Speaker grill is slightly more transparent on the this one vs not transparent on 8060fa. Personally I say for with the 280FA for the cost savings. The cherry isn't horrible, just looks fake.

No way.. the speakers have been discontinued for awhile now. This price drop is probably to offload the last remaining that they have. If it ever does get down to $700 is because it would literally be the last pair that they have

How do these compare to the Polk Audio LSiM705 that have been posted lately?
