For those who qualify amex has 30 off 60+ which brings the total down to 85.99 before tax.

I have the 6 quart duo model and it has always done everything I needed except on occasion I could have really made use of the larger size.

I see you can get the 8 quart duo cheaper than the ultra because technically its a lower model. When it comes to the real difference between them. Does it really matter? I just set my time and temp and they both do that. They have the same wattage, same... what seems like everything except the interface and less presets.

Has anybody ever found this to be a limitation and wish you had purchased a higher model for the features?

I have the 3qt duo, 5.5qt lux, and now 8qt ultra which I purchased from C&B when it was $120. The added size is quite nice when making stews and other foods I often make as I was often right at the limit line of the 5.5qt. the biggest plus for the ultra is the sous vide feature. It's not as accurate temp wise as a circulator, but it's always been either spot on or at most within 2-3 degrees of the temp I set which is in line with what's stated in the manual (+/- 5 degree accuracy). If you need pinpoint accuracy you're probably better off with a stand alone circulator. The auto sealing lid and new steam release valve are nice touches too. Overall I'd say it would easily replace a duo and be more functional (if you plan to use the sous vide), just keep in mind the size because it's quite large.

Thanks.
Yeah when I do soups/stews I fill up the 6qt to the top. I would also like more room for roasts and things.

I have a Joule Sous Vide that I would probably still use 99% of the time, if I didn't have one the sous vide would be a big selling point.

But the 6qt barely fits in my pantry, I know the 8qt is not going to have a place :/
