Can't really help wrt motion detection dash cam as when I researched this I went with a non-motion sensor one. Even there, the price points can go from ultra cheap Chinese garbage to expensive.

However, fyi, but the motion sensor aspect of dash cam is largely over rated imo. Their primary use is to record when you are driving for accident\legal purposes. Acting as a camera security system when parked relies on having power, being active in extreme condtions and motion sensors which simply tend to be spotty at best. And there is no guarantee that even if they are triggered they will catch what you want as there are gaps usually between the front and back cameras.

And honestly, say they catch some a-hole keying your car. Unless the cops know the person or you are in a small town, do you really think they are doing an extensive investigation? In a big city\urban area, they likely spend little if any time on it imo.
