Samsung 65'' Q80R - (QN65Q80RAFXZA) - $1593.49

Wow days after Rakuten had the q80r via Gamingliquidation for $1488.00

Now Staples has it for $1593.49. I purchased it via rakuten and now I will be returning it to buy it from Staples and pay $100 more, Wanna know why.... Staples is a verified Authorized 3rd party reseller. So that means your warranty will still be honored.

I've been on the search for a new high-end 65'' tv since June and In my researched opinion, this deal will not get any better until black Friday.

I don't think he's right, but lets see what he has to say. If he's referring to the targeted Chase Rewards offers like I suspect he is, he omitted mentioning that the cashback caps on those offers are very low (typically between $5 and $20). [onemileatatime.com]

I just looked up the rewards for this month and for today there is a 3% back on all staples purchases. So not as good as 10% but I will take 3%. just log into your chase card and look on the right at the ultimate rewards back, u might have to search staples.

Ultimate Rewards is just a cashback portal and 3% cashback for Staples is nothing special. Anyone can do better than 3% regardless of whether or not they have a Chase card. Rakuten (e-b@tes) currently has Staples at 4% as does RetailMeNot. I can almost guarantee you the guy talking about 10% back was referring to a targeted Chase offer that he saw on his card but didn't bother to read the T&Cs for.

Yea i saw the 4% back with Rakuten too, I completely sold on this offer. Not only is it from an authorized reseller but this is the price I will pay :

$1,593.49 + (No Tax week in Virginia) + (Free Next day Delivery) - %4 (Rakuten = $63.74) - (Staples Coupon from staples $25 off a purchase of $75 or more) - 3% (Chase rewards) =

Total = $1,460.58 .. Love it!

I may be wrong, but I believe:
-Tax free weekend is for school related items and clothes and only up to a certain amount (TV may not qualify
-You likely wouldn't be able to get both the Rakuten 4% and chase 3% as you have to get to the Staples website through their respective portals (only allowing one?)
I could be wrong on both of these points and I'm not trying to poo-poo the deal. I think it's pretty good and i am thinking of buying.

How would people compare this to an LG C8 Oled? I know this set has HDMI 2.1 which is more useful for gamers, which wouldn't really be my use case. And the oled is better in dark rooms, while this TV is better in lighter rooms because of the higher brightness. Curious on others thoughts, especially if the 2 sets can be had for roughly the same price.
