The senior has rheumatoid arthritis. So yes, "seriously weak" as you said, as opposed to not seriously weak. It's a common crippling condition amongst seniors as their joints age and deteriorate. Something that you take for granted like turning a light on and off can be extremely painful for someone with RA. Why else would I ask? If it was a twist on and off they wouldn't be able to use it.

How do you turn it on/off? Easy for a weaker senior to turn on & off? The pics don't explain anything about powering on. TIA

Given that it uses 3 AAA's how bulky is it when clipping it to a book? As I get older I find that I need more light to read in bed and my nightstand light, which I'd rather not make any brighter because it would be jarring, is too dim for reading. I saw that most such lights are $10 and up, so what's the catch here?

Also, is there a rechargeable USB version? Would probably be slimmer and lighter (and more expensive).
