Not true. Got it from Walmart for $49 plus tax about 9-10 weeks ago to upgrade my old router and it's been good. This router doesn't have all the advanced software feature, I just wanted to bump up my signal and speed to at least 400 mbps (my old one only went up to less than 100 mbps) and it's been consistent. Definitely worth it for $50 for sure. I sold the other one I got and basically got mine for free.
