This thing is a workhorse. A beast I tell you. I have abused mine for 4+ years and its still going strong.
Here are cheap toners 3 pack for $23 buckaroos
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-pk-TN7...2691685520

But....big butts.... you are getting it from Staples - order may get canceled, your credit card will get over charged AFTER the fact, so watch out. Watch the charge like a hawk.

THESE 760 Generic Cartridges = $16-18 w/ required chips
TN660 Generic Cartridges = $3-5 w/ required chips. SEE BELOW

1) That 760 toner price, does NOT include the chips
The chips are expensive, from what I remember. Will approximately DOUBLE the price

2) The Brother/etc. TN660 toner (vs 760) are the super cheap ones.
There's constantly deals on that toner WITH CHIP on slickdeals, through amzn w/ coupon codes
I started off paying $11/2 pack, and kept buying as they dropped to $6/2 pack
This Brother printer does NOT use the TN660.
If it's worth your time, or you save old cartridges, refurbishing companies pay $3/empty toner cartridge. Essentially making it free.

3) If you print a lot, look for printer deals using TN660
Includes MANY models & Brands: Brother, Dell, others
You could be paying as low as $3 per TN660 toner INCLUDING chips VS $16-$18 per 760 cartridge, including chips
Over the life of the printer, you'll save a fortune by picking a TN660/TN630 compatible printer! (Not to mention price difference, when you replace the drum!)

(I had gotten a Brother all in 1 & fax, refurbished for $65 from staples. New were $130 on SD also. You can get without fax much cheaper. Just set up alerts for the TN660/TN630 compatible laser printers)

Was planing on buying this printer today anyway. Had to check out incognito and as a guest, the price would always change back to 149 from having it in my cart previously.

For the love of god Brother just come out with a version that can do Scan to PDF that can be saved to USB storage device. It's hard to upgrade from 2280dw when it still just works and there's not much difference with this upgrade. Smilie. Love the printers but would love to get rid of both Brother 2280dw and my HP OfficeJet that is only used for scanning to PDF with just one printer. Damn first world problems.

Edit: it seems that their color laser printers line up does offer this functionality! Hope it becomes the norm for their next models of B&W printers.

Can't you just use the scan to file option?
