There's an extra 20% coupon applied at checkout for certain accounts. YMMV

It's only available for certain accounts. IF you have an account with the coupon it will state so right under the price of the item (there's a check box). Again YMMV.

Edit: I'm referring to the 2pk of the HS103 👍

Does anyone know if I can set these smart plugs up to turn on or off when I tap an NFC tag? I've been unsuccessful in getting my Monoprice Stitch plugs to do that. They seem to use a modified Smart Life app.

It's a TP-Link smart plug. These usually aren't as cheap as the random Chinese brands that show up all the time. Not saying it's a fantastic deal, but that's why it's a little more expensive.

The price is probably average for sale prices, but it's still a sale price. Plus, these plugs are higher amperage than a lot of other plugs at this price point. Many of them are 10 amps or less, which means these will take larger devices such as space heaters that others may not

I have a couple Kasa plugs, they work well. I used the Kasa app to set them up, but since then I've uninstalled it and they continue to work fine with my Google Home mini speakers. I mostly use them to turn on the AC window unit when I'm on my way home.

Side note: the smaller "lite" model can't support big appliances like an AC unit, it's only 12 amps. Looks like most of the other models can, though. Read the description before you buy.

Good note, but at 12 amps and 120 volts this should put out 1440 Watts. That would support a wide array of window mounted AC units.

I will say, that there seems to be different models of this device and some only put out 10A. The product page for the actually lists both numbers. Your right that people should know what they want to plug in before buying.

What infuriates me about these things is that there's no way to do a power cycle if it's connected to your router (a very common application), because it requires the WiFi connection for you to manually turn it back on. Such a simple yet missing feature!

Does any other brand have this capability?

Yeah there is some conflicting info. If you scroll down to the comparison chart on this page [amazon.com], it says all the other models support up to 15A, while the "lite" model only supports up to 10A. So I'm guessing it depends on the size and wattage of your AC unit, but as a general rule you should buy the non-lite models if you're planning on running an appliance that uses a lot of electricity.
