$30 is very little to spend on a backpack like this.

IMO you may be better off with a closeout or used pack from a name brand like Osprey, Sierra Designs, Kelty, North Face, Gregory, etc. Poke around your local facebook marketplace or craigslist. I bet you can get a nice 40-70L pack from a name brand for a few bucks more than this pack, and it'll last years to come.

I should add that if you absolutely must buy a cheap disposable backpack like this, do NOT pick it up by one of the shoulder straps. Aside from blown zippers, that's the most common failure point on heavy backpacks, and by far the most catastrophic.

Pick it up by the haul loop above the shoulder harness. Either set it onto a table, stump or your bent knee. Then slide one arm through a shoulder strap, ease it onto your back while bent at the waist and get your other arm through the opposing strap before you straighten up.

It takes a bit of technique and definitely some discipline to consistently do this, but it'll at least give you a ghost of a chance of this thing actually lasting through a backpacking trip.

But really: apply that discipline to saving up for a better quality pack.
