I heard about the plan changes coming up and then I was reading some posts in this thread
where a couple users were talking about the military discount and one mentioned grandfathering (thanks wspfan).
So I got on the chat myself to confirm. The chat rep told me the same thing wspfan heard, that if you get on the military discount with $40 off for 4 unlimited lines now you are grandfathered and will get $40 dollars off with the new plans when they go live on the 5th. If you add your discount on the 5th or after, the max military discount will be $25 dollars with 4 or 5 lines (the rep said $25 but our account does have 5 lines and those multiples work out).
We'll see if it works out for us but the rep seemed confident. I share an account with my brother and for a long time his employer discount was better than my military discount so we never added it. I just uploaded my DD-214 tonight and the rep thinks that was good enough to secure the grandfathered discount. If not, I have the chat transcript so hopefully they will honor it either way.
I figured this bit of info is important enough for it's own thread. Military Verizon users can probably save an extra $15 bucks a month indefinitely if they jump on this.
<- This is where you can put some basic service info and upload your DD-214.
