I worked with Amazon sortation and fulfillment. You pretty much just see people working. Packing and moving boxes around. I don't know what people are expecting. The fulfillment centers may have TSA-style scanners in the entrance depending on which part of the process that location serves.

The sortation centers (at least the one I worked at) is just a large room warehouse with boxes, vans (depending on time of day), shelves, and lots of bags. Lots of bags...

I guess it would be funny to go during the winter and seeing people suffer from the heaters not working.

On a side note, the people in the photos aren't wearing reflective vests which is a big nono.

People that did TripAdvisor reviews for the tours seemed to have enjoyed it. Thought people might be interested in seeing it for free. Our family is going to the one in Chattanooga, TN.

Some reviews I've found:

"reserve up to 10 seats"...

So it's some sort of indoor trolley ride?

Maybe that's why the OP thought this was a "slick deal" -- cheaper than Disney, shorter lines...I guess?

I can't imagine willfully choosing to spend my free time doing this, unless I was contemplating applying for a job there.

TY for posting! I love seeing behind the scenes of places, especially ones that utilize different technologies. It's important to me that my kids know how much man power is behind the worlds workings, I don't want them thinking "packages just show-up" and having zero appreciation for how things are possible.

Yup, that's my 5yr old alright! He thinks packages just show up after we order them and everything's replaceable! This is a conversation we recently had:

- Son, stop banging on this, or else it'll break!
- That's alright. Dad will just order me another one!!!

My guess is the tour will show how an order got routed to a fulfillment center and the processes needed to ship out the order efficiently. Probably showing a rundown of some of Amazon's logistics processes

Oooh a box factory! We went on a field trip to a box factory when I was a kid...my favorite part was when we toured the foreman's office, which had a yellow arrow you would follow that surrounded his desk. Too bad we didn't get to see any finished boxes, they do that in Flint, MI.
