The Helium Advantage
Helium comes with various advantages that deliver great benefits to end-users:
Squeezing tracks closer together means more data tracks per disk = more data per HDD.
Thinner disks = more disks (5 disks are now 8 disks) = more data per HDD.
Thinner disks require less power to spin.
Helium creates less drag, requiring less power to spin the disks.
Less drag = less noise. (Helium drives are less annoying to listen to!)
Sealed drives keep helium in and keep contaminants out.

I purchased the 10TB Elements last week and they are WD100EMAZ-00WJTA0, which is the exact same model that came in the 10TB EasyStore that I got.

Good Price. Crappy model. Wait for the Easystores. B&H trying to get rid of their excess stock cuz they know people havent been biting.

Dont bite.

Elements have air filled 8TB drives. Easystores have the Helium filled drives. Check your serial and make sure it doesnt start with "VAG"

Youve been warned.
I bought this same model number from newegg last month for $124.99. All indications from experts that shuck drives are that this model contains a WD Red drive, far from crappy, it's just what I was looking for. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if I was low on space, but I'm good for awhile now.

You know how when you suck in helium you get a high pitched voice? Well, these helium ones go "brreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" instead of "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Isn't that (along with lower drag and increased longevity) more theoretical and dependent on no leaks?

I believe it has to do with how it allows them to make the platters and the density of the device.

So many MTBF hard drive "experts", so little hard facts.
