I have a cold brew coffee maker similar to this and I find that a lot of the coffee grains float on top of the filter. Your better off sticking with a french press for cold brew.

Have had this one for a year and it's adequate. After a while the gasket that prevents the coffee from dripping into the carafe stopped locking in place automatically, so you have to make sure it's pushed into place otherwise the coffee just drips right through. but I only paid about ten bucks for it at an estate sale so I don't feel ripped off as you might if you pay $20 for it.
