I still have OG leftovers in my freezer from last year! EEK! Little butter and salt toss it in the microwave and it's still delicious. It's definitely kept my food bill low.

Yep, UPS. I got the e-mail that mine had been shipped from OG this morning, AFTER I got the UPS My Choice e-mail that it was coming.

a real shame. obviously parents did not teach him/her integrity. i had the opportunity to purchase a 2nd one when my gf had hers in the cart. i just let it go, i preferred to let somebody else take mine.
I have mixed emotions regarding seeing this as an issue of integrity and ethics when it comes to a high-demand item that's deliberately priced low like the Pasta Pass. This happens also for sporting events, concerts and other gatherings where many people want to go yet seats are limited. So are their budgets.

Promoters worry if they price tickets too high, they won't get enough sales. So to create excitement and fill seats, they'll say, "Come see Taylor Swift for only $100!" Scalpers, however, see a great chance to be entrepreneurial. If the venue didn't price it right, that's not their fault (they reason.)

If Olive Garden didn't price Pasta Pass at what to many is a ridiculously low $100, would they still generate interest?

If Olive Garden wanted to try combatting this, they could become the auctioneer. That's what some popular musical artists have done. They beat the scalpers at their own game, they tell fans to name their own price, i.e.,
* Just how much are you willing to pay to go see Taylor Swift?
* Just how much are you willing to pay for 9 weeks of pasta? For a Lifetime?

While this enables more loyal fans to get in by discouraging scalpers, it tends to favor the rich.
