After the issues I've gone through with multiple Netgear products including the latest nighthawk 7900p which constantly drops connection (and the only fix is to downgrade to a firmware with known vulnerabilities) and Netgear refuses to fix, I will never again support this brand. Because I'm outside of my one year warranty, they won't even talk to me unless I pay for customer support. They don't deserve my money and they don't deserve yours either.

Still have my old Netgear R7000 which has been rock solid since I installed dd-wrt 😁

Like I mentioned in other AX gear threads. The prices on all AX routers should be dropping steadily so unless you really need it now no harm in waiting.

If you dont need the flexibility to compensate for dead spots, this while still priced a bit to high for a non finished standard, would be a great long term buy. You really wont see any benefits of AX gear unless you have AX cards to go with them, but that is becoming available in devices in the coming months.

Also as others pointed on in previous threads you can get an AX laptop wifi card replacement for existing gear for around $20.

I am tempted to try this one. I bought the X6S variant that Costco had on sale for $150, and man is it a buggy POS. The firmware is total trash, and I've had to factory reset twice simply for configuring a handful of off the shelf settings the router supposedly supports. I've been a loyal Nighthawk user for many years, but holy smokes their firmware QA is total garbage. Anyone have experience with this one?
