I see the offer on the "rewards deals" page in the deals area, but it does not show on the product page like it normally does.... How long is the offer good for?

Mine show on the item pages, but make sure you are logged in first. That might do the trick.

On past promotions, it has been a day or two - very fast.

Great deal considering you get 100% of the money back. Even if you dont shop there much, you can use the rewards to buy stamps. So $40 in stamps and 48 or so batteries for free. Not a bad deal.

100% of the purchase price, keep in mind you are still out the sales tax.

Most people don't use stamps anymore, I bought a pack of 10 couple of years ago and still has 4 left. I will likely have to spend them on detergents, which I already have quite a bit redeeming Staples rewards. I sure would like to cash in my $60 OD GCs that I held onto for many many years.
Seems like the 24-pack AA and the 20-pack AAA are the best deals?

That is why a coupon helps a bit when buying the batteries.

Also, noobs should keep in mind that this is not a deal at all unless you plan on buying items in the future at Office Depot that you will actually use. As stated by others here, stamps are typically good for redeeming rewards dollars if you still use snail mail.

Also, cleaning supplies, paper products, TP, etc. are also sometimes good buys if they are on sale, especially when you can stack a coupon when redeeming your rewards. Also, don't forget that you can price match tech items to stores like Best Buy and Walmart, and still use your rewards.

Just don't get in the trap of buying overpriced batteries just for the rewards, and then waiting to redeem your rewards at the last minute on something that is overpriced or that you don't really need just to avoid losing the rewards before they expire.

20% coupon not applying to the AA batteries because they are on mark down / not regular priced. Anyone else get it to go through?

A unique 20% coupon should apply (not 59668866)

Technically the 16 AAs are regularly priced (not the 20-pack, they are definitely on sale), but it's because they are "technology" items in this instance, which is why that coupon is not applying to either.
