Haha comments got nuked.

That said, don't go chasing this deal too hard. I did over the weekend and I was not successful.

It appears that they did a UPC switch, or something of the sort, and they'll have the appropriate number of products but it has a different UPC than the one that is shown here on clearance for $5. all of the upc's are stickered over, in my experience. Most likely, the stories that are showing a bunch and stock didn't properly zero out the old UPC when they stickered.

I know some people that were successful on getting one or two, just don't go too far out of your way unless you're willing to take that risk. Those were probably the stores that didn't change the upc line they were supposed to originally.

Two of my stores had 5 and 10 in stock respectively in-store and on brickseek both, but none of them ring up at the appropriate clearance price.

I can't comment on the deal (Brickseek doesn't have that price anywhere in my area) but these are very good clippers. My wife used to be a hair stylist and now she still services a few friends and family at our home. This is the unit she uses and it was $35 -$40 if I remember correctly.

I'm tempted to go 'hunt" for another Walmart deal, but must resist. From my experience over the past couple years, I have been unsuccessful, each and every time, even though Brickseek says they have them in stock. Walmart almost put Kmart out of business and kept Target at bay because of their superior inventory and logistics system about 20 years ago. I don't know what happened to them, perhaps there's less competition to drive them now, but they have regressed to the point that I dislike shopping there.

If anyone can get this for $5, it's a steal.

I absolutely agree with the fact that this price seems a mistake the store won't honor, the Walmart inventory is a mess, and chances to get this for $5 are very slim.

I tell you what, I go hunt for wal mart deals on the daily. There's plenty to be had, the problem is that by the time it makes it to SD, the stock that's actually " in stock" is already gone. All that's left is the stores with bad management and lazy employees. They have the tools like you mentioned, but their processes are not tight at all.

One other tip. If BS says "limited stock" its almost as always oos. Ding ever make a trip for those, just be sure to check if you're going there anyway. .I know most here will/have said the same, its just worth repeating.

Do you have to physically be in the store for the price to show up? Or can you cart it and checkout for pickup at the store with the discounted price? I see 3 near me but am at work.

Thanks for the tip. You are correct that I see them SD first, then check BS, then go hunting, inevitably returning home disappointed. So is there a tip to finding these deals before they hit SD? You can PM with your trade secrets.

See my 1st comment then:

It might be worth a try. Walmart used to have an automated policy that would give you the clearance price upon pick up if it was on clearance in your store. It would initially show the regular price through the whole check out process online, but once you go to pick up it would automatically adjust specs nearest Price. Honestly, I do not know if that still works, but if walmart.com is showing $5 at your local store it might be worth a shot

I have been hit and miss on Walmart stuff. I agree if it says limited I do not even bother. But having a Walmart right on my way home, and another if I go a little bit longer route. Ive got an older Wahl my wife has been cutting my hair with for the past 6 years. We love this brand. I am hoping others can score a great clipper for a super cheap price.

All the Walmarts around me have them in stock.

Too bad they're $50. :/
