Looks typewriters to me also. Take a nap if you want to but that's just a funky looking picture.

This seems kind of expensive, no? Seems like 16gb of 3000 ddr4 is running around $60-70. Is 3200 fetching this much of a premium?

Edit: ah, I see. Cas 14. Timings are pretty tight on this, so I'm assuming it's all the ryzen folks (not knocking ryzen - I have 2 ryzen builds) clamoring for it that's pushing up the price.

Missed the cas14 as well. Was asking myself the same thing, thought for this price you can even get rgb ones, lol

I have the same sticks of RAM, I like the aesthetics, like a dark chocolate bar.

Samsung B die hype I think is dying down a bit as Micron E yields apparently have good OC potential to have timings tightened just as well for a bit lower cost, but that's still a YMMV scenario.

I got the red version of this for $209 on 05/2018 from Newegg. Samsung B die. I have a ryzen 5 2600x. No complaints yet, very good ram.

I have been waiting for this but I don't think it is worth twice the price of a fairly closely matched 3000 15-15-15 sticks. If it comes at around 80 I will buy just one pair out of curiosity but really, the proper price should be 70 bucks.

Not knowing too much about computers here, would these be good if I'm planning on getting a ryzen 3600 and x570 MB? Keep reading reviews about other RAM sticks but being fully compatible.

It's perfect for that but if you plan on not overclocking you can get cheaper alternatives with at least Cas 16s. Wink

This is expensive RAM for people who want to play around with RAM overclocking with tight timing on their Ryzens. Other 16GB 3200Mhz RAM will get you 95% the performance at half the price. You really don't need this RAM.
Also, you sure you want to get x570 motherboard? Pairing it with a cheap 3600 seems imbalanced. X570s are for the folks with the high end Ryzens who want to use features such as PCIe 4.0 (which is unnecessary for 99% of the people as most modern mainstream GPUs can't even fully saturate the old PCIe 2.0, so PCIe 3 should handle any card on the market today).

0 difference with the 980 Ti between PCIe 2 vs PCIe 3.

Every motherboard has a qvl list just make sure the ram you buy is on it otherwise your rolling the dice if it will work at the specced speed. As for speed and timings it looks like as long as you get ram above 3000mhz you can get the most out of your system.

What timing can you get with these at 3600mhz?
