Google has a new mesh router coming out soon, as in a month or so.

So these older onhub mesh capable ones are getting dumped and the pucks will probably get the same treatment once that's released.

Still running 5 tp-link and one Asus onhubs in two homes. Never a problem. In fact they're invisible. Update on their own, etc.

I like the onhubs better than the pucks. Aside from being a lot larger, AC1900 vs AC1200 and more/larger antennae. IIRC the onhub also has more memory than the puck and similar cpu power, and they're basically a headless chromebook running a variant of chrome OS with some extra routing code added in. So update support for the onhub may go on for a while longer.

A lot different from the days when I bought single expensive routers to cover my larger home, most of which only got a couple of updates before being abandoned.

I saw that. Wonder if open box is ok. For $26 I should cancel my order. And just get the openbox

It showed up in some FCC (or something) test list, and the author of the article I read said items that make it that far are usually released "imminently". Supports Wifi 6 (802.11ax) and some other niceties.

Yea I saw that to, I just not a fan of having a built-in speaker with it...

Nope, I have cable as well (spectrum) 400d/22u. But the new Google wifi will be used on AT&T fiber 300 D/U

What is so special about Google WiFi vs just a optimum router (which is free)
