I had just ordered this configuration on Lenovo's site, taking advantage of their back to school special as well as an additional 5% teacher's discount, and even with both of those discounts, this deal is still $100 cheaper than what I paid. I immediately cancelled my original order and bought this instead, with free next day shipping - thanks for the heads up!

Depends on what you want. I wouldn't even consider the 545 because it has bad thermals and looks terrible.

Please read: I've been an owner of multiple different laptops of recent. ASUS zephyrus, MSI Gs65, Dell g3/G5 and last years Y540. The Y540 was by far the worst performing of all of these in thermals. While yes this is a good price for the specs especially considering all of the ones I mentioned above are a little bit more expensive it's worth it for the feel, the specs, the quality of the materials and just user experience. I had two hard drives completely fail on me because of overheating in my Lenovo. And that was with an under volt and max fans while gaming.
Which performed the best?

That's nice. It's too bad that the actual numbers don't back up your claims. Maybe you just got a lemon, cause the Asus laptops run the hottest by far.

No. Completely different looking devices, and the 545 only has one exhaust on each side, compared to two on the 540.

U sure? I had a GU502 and it runs so hot and loud. G3/g5 are basically crap.

Semi-sweet deal. Almost same exact specs as Helios 300 from Prime Day, but this is 100$ more plus you might have to undervolt first.
