Then don't! No need to announce it like others in every single DD thread.

I don't recall seeing much of DD here until after the story became publicised & I'm not assuming everyone knows about it. People ought to be informed of issues like this before deciding to give such a company their money, and I'm going to mention it whether you like it or not.

I'm not really much of an activist type, but this is truly sleazy and kinda hit home for me so here I am. TFB if you don't like it.

No, because I don't trust their pinky swear not to continue to screw over their workers & I'm not going to encourage them. I'd rather encourage the companies using them to rethink their choice.

EDIT: Besides - if they're losing money, why do you think they're doing this? It's to take business away from their rivals & in the long run dominate so they can return to their scummy ways when they're the only game in town. No, not supporting that.

I didn't know about it and this newfound information has made me decide never to give them my money again. Thank you for posting about it.

Encourage them what? They are giving away free stuff. I understand you don't like what they do, but they are handing you $ on a silver platter.

You win, they lose...

Edit: it's them and Uber eats. Do what you want. I don't agree toh what they do. But I'm gonna take free $ if they want to hand me it.

I don't look at it like you

I can understand and respect that. I don't know for a fact that avoiding them is the best thing to do - it's just what I personally think is best at the moment. I'm not demanding everyone do as I say, I just want everyone to be able to make an informed choice.

How they make money? Do they get kickbacks from the restaurants?

IIRC, they take 20% of the total order from the restaurant.

Use their promo codes, tip in cash for delivery. Also note their prices are sometimes inflated since menus are prob trying to recoup their fee costs.

Worked for me. Thanks OP.

Since there's no delivery and no tips to be stolen by Doordash I went with this option.
