DirecTV Now save $15/month for 2 months (YMMV) for current customers/retention

Hi SD'ers,

I'm listing this as YMMV because I'm not sure if this will work for everyone but here's my story.

I was upset that AT&T raised my subscription by $10/month AND dropped the NFL network so I was planning to cancel this evening. When I went to "Manage my subscription" and clicked "I want to cancel" the next screen offered a $15/month discount for 2 months if I stayed with DirecTV Now.

I am a day one subscriber so I was getting the "Go Big" package + HBO for $45/month. After the $10 price increase and the $15 discount I'm currently paying $40/month for the next 2 months.

Thanks, looks targeted. I was getting HBO for free and changed my payment information and it went away. Of course their support was no help, they never ever have done anything technically helpful only gave me some discounts as the chrome version of dtvnow is practically unusable.

I was not able to replicate this deal, just see a screen comparing dtvnow to other providers which other than the channel line-up are no doubt superior in UI and reliability.

@anderson333osu Did you see the offer when you hit the small print "I want to cancel", or did you see it after you hit "continue to cancel" after you see a page comparing the current plan to the new plans?

Waiting for answer on this. I don't want to go too far and cancel my account on accident

The screen immediately following "I want to cancel" had the offer, same page as all the competition comparison. It was BEFORE "continue to cancel."

Thanks OP. I'm on the live a little plan from the start so I just told them that I was going to cancel via chat due to the price increases, that I'll go to Youtube TV and she offered the 15 off for 2 months. I was paying 55 a month due to having a 3rd stream and now it's 40 a month for 2 months. Thank you very much OP.

Hopefully you guys aren't grandfathered in to the go big plan because after the 2 months you won't be able to get it back

Be careful with your Grandfathered plans. ATT is all over the place with deciding how to treat these promotions.
