Green discoloration of picture on a LG OLED65E7P.
August 7, 2019 at 04:42 PM
I have a 16 month old OLED TV with about 2,000 hours of viewing time. It's been a great TV, but recently I've noticed a slight, pale green tint appearing in the middle part of the screen. This occurs briefly when a picture first appears on screen, & a split second later the normal color/tint returns, as this pale green hue slowly fades away. Sort of a small circular type area. Very noticeable/distracting on the hue of people's faces but it also shows on items other than faces. Each & every time a new scene appears on screen, this pale green erupts, & then very quickly the correct, normal hue/color takes over. The correct color remains until a new picture comes on screen. The 1 year LG factory warranty expired the end of March, 2019. Is this a problem that I should be concerned with, or is it somewhat normal? Is there an easy fix/repair for it? Are there settings on the TV that I need to adjust? My wife & I are elderly, & probably watch TV too much, but the TV has not been used for gaming, or as a monitor. Strictly normal TV viewing. Am I making a much ado about nothing, or is it a problem that will only worsen? Thanks, I will appreciate any info./suggestions you might have.
