I want to try the impossible whopper, but I don't think it's available nationwide...right?

I haven't tried the Impossible burger yet, but I tried the Beyond burger at Carl's Jr. Honestly pretty darn good (both in general taste/texture, but also as a "meat substitute").

The only limitation right now (both Carl's Jr and BK) is that they only come as one kind of burger. So with regular meat they have 15+ items whereas Beyond/Impossible have exactly one each (Whopper/Famous Star).

Well of course they are going to say you can't taste the difference. They cook the impossible whopper on the same griddle with the same oil and grease as the regular whoppers.

Also the impossible whopper has almost the same amount as calories and of course more carbs, so not sure it's really a better alternative and not really a vegan option either.

(Sorry if you marked it unhelpful. I guess the truth hurts for some who have wild delusions of it being a great healthy vegan option).

Yeah, I thought the beyond burger at Carls was pretty good. Of course there was an after taste that made it pretty obvious it wasn't meat, but nonetheless, texture was similar and looks were similar and taste was quite good!

Sodium on plant based burgers are very high.

"The original Whopper clocks in at 660 calories (more than half of them coming from fat), 40 grams of fat, and 28 grams of protein. The Impossible Whopper comes in at 630 calories (again, half from fat), 34 grams of fat, and 25 grams of protein."

So you save 30 calories (< 5% differene). Hardly healthier. But yes, plant based is likely better for the environment and reduces animal consumption.

FYI: The Impossible burger will be cooked in the same broiler as meat products. I assume this is not an issue for people utilizing this deal but good for vegetarian and vegan awareness.
