Don't post here often, but this is the lowest price I've found on Sony-refurbished WH-1000XM3's. Tax may apply, unfortunately. Free Shipping

I got a refurbished unit that failed after 30 days. Sony did not honor the warranty and will do everything they can to not honor it. Sony is a terrible company IMO. Save yourself the headache.

Proof I own: https://i.imgur.com/keCcBzD.jpg

Had bought multiple units. Refurnished units are not covered under warranty, nor any retail that Sony doesnt approve of. It was actually hard to even figure out who they covered other than buying it directly from them. Not worth the headache and 5+ phone calls and social media postings and energy drain from this fiasco to save a few bucks. Now I have a sort of brick. Stick with a company that stands behind their product.
1. Touch control was going up and down on volume randomly. Called Sony, they didnt honor warranty, recalled several times and same thing. Returned to seller borderline 30 days just in time.
2. Touch control was going crazy in cold weather and popping noises from left ear. Called Sony again to see if they would replace. They wouldnt even budge. Returned to seller after complaining multiple times for these defective units. Luckily they accepted the return. Sony did not.
3. Popping noise from left ear again in the Airplane and touch control randomly going off as well as blue tooth randomly disconnecting. Tried to return, 50 days out, can't. Sony didnt honor warranty, stuck with these. Seller didnt accept return.

Had several back and forth with Sony, reddit etc... The amount of headache and suffering to save a few bucks was not worth it for me -- I really want to join a class action lawsuit for these defective headphones.

have you contacted secondipity to honor the 90day warranty (as it's mentioned in the listing)? or else start a dispute with ebay and/or cc

In fairness, I had a used WH1000XM3 bought off eBay last year that failed a couple weeks ago. I called for warranty support, and Sony just checked the serial number, and did a clean swap without even checking where I purchased it from. Totally YMMV.

For this listing, looks like there's a 3rd party 90-day warranty, though.

Is there currently a new MX3 being offered anywhere for that amount? I don't think we've ever seen it that low, although it's come close.

FWIW I got in on this Secondipity deal a couple of months ago when it was offered then. Ended up returning them because they didn't work properly, and I didn't want to deal with the whole return/replace deal.

For those of you who have successfully gotten refurbed Sony headphones replaced by Sony, did they replace with a new model or another refurbished one?

Brand new listing, hadn't seen it yet. But that's a better deal, and seller says *no tax (although the question remains whether Sony will honor the warranty). With the eBay deal you'll almost definitely be paying tax.

*Sellers says no tax, but they'll be collecting in NY. Guess it's Google that's collecting the tax.

I was told to do this as well. Didn't work so YMMV. It isn't worth the headache to save a few bucks... Would rather much stick with a company that stands behind their product without me going through the hoops only to be denied. With refurbs, Bose have honored the warranty on my QC25 no problem at all.

Bose = Not equal Sony
when did refurb units have Sony warranty anyways? or sony selling refurb units? you bought it from a 3rd party
I think you just stank on yourself for buying a used product with no protection. Who knows how previous turd handled the headphones

in this case, atleast secondipity offers 90-day warranty which could be challenged (by ebay, CC) if not honored.

take it as lesson learned.
