Totally agree with this comment. I have stayed at the intercontinental in dc London, and hotel Inidgo with my free nights, these ranged anywhere from $300-$500 a night. Card easily pays for itself.

Thanks for the tip on status match to Wyndham to Caesar, will try that.

You can have both cards and get free nights and points for each, I have both the rewards club world card and premier card. Call up chase to confirm what you can get. Will probably ask the wife to sign up for this so she as both too, and together we have 4 nights. A year.
Are you sure I can have both at the same time?
This is the card I have, IHG Rewards Club World MasterCard 800-698-0120 the only difference seems to be the word Premier.

Good point about wife. We did the same but I cancelled her card after 1st year which was dumb. I also lost both out Chase nights because I forgot to set a reminder in my calendar. Impossible to get it back.

I called chase last year before I got the premier card, they said yes, two different cards. After I got those points I called ihg and merged my accounts so all the points from both are in a single account. Also confirmed with chase that I get a free night for EACH card, so I should get both in October for anniversary date.

Did you apply the 2nd card using the same IHG member number? Or you have to apply 2 different IHG member numbers?

Generally feeling/opinion that points are being devalued fairly steadily. Across most programs.
But to say 125k is worthless is an exaggeration.
My family loves the Holiday Inn Express, in particular, and regularly find redemptions around 20K a night (range 15k-25k).
That makes the bonus alone worth 6+ free nights, in what would have otherwise cost $700-$800.
Plus a lot of other perks on the card.
There are PointBreaks which also happen to work for me periodically, though those have been watered down from 5k to 5/10/15k. Still, better than full price.

Throw in the $50 statement credit advertised upstream, and I finally applied.
....only to get the "we need more time to review your application" message. DOH

Agreed, and since some of those 20k properties go for over $200 / night (HIX in the Bronx for example) for some people this will be worth over $1,000.

Point breaks can be interesting for international travel. Find a decent property at 5k or 10k and hopefully a cheap flight to go with it. I haven't done that yet, but may in the next couple of years.

Hope you get approved.

Thanks - best of luck on the international travel combo idea.

APPROVED after calling Reconsideration line
-Credit bureau freeze (I assumed the wrong bureau which they'd pull from)
-Then, to high of credit lines across Chase cards. Lowered on the phone and instant approval.

Avoid this card. The point is useless. Most popular property or property near attractions have no room for points redemption.
Dumb comment is dumb. Given the fact that this card gives you the fourth night free on redemptions, that alone is worth the annual fee.

Holiday Inn point bookings come out between 20-30K points on the IHG site. The same room can be booked for 10K on the Chase Rewards site. It is crazy how much of a difference there is most of the time.
Not crazy at all if you know what points are worth. 10K Chase points are worth more than even 30K IHG points, so the comparison is actually not in the former's favor.

Very bad offer and no value!
I have ihg card wih platinum sttaus for 7 years and i have gotten zero benefit of this at any IHG hotels, FORGET BREAKFAST, not even room upgrade or late check out. always asked if i need better room or upgrade room for extra cost or $30 for late check out etc.

When I call IHG to complain about the lack of benefit during my stay, they just gave me 200 points which is pathetic and worth about 20 cents.
dishonest benefit advertisement.
I actually got upgrade in most visit. But depend on property. High end hotel like Intercontinental might not get you much. But for Holiday Inn you would get upgrade most the time. I find these points to be worth more if use for aboard like Asia. IHG redemption is not as good as it used to be after they raised the point requirement. It's a good keeper card for $89. especially with 125k signup bonus.
